ITM%

In-the-money percentage — share of tournaments where you cash.

What is ITM% in poker?

ITM%In-the-money percentage — share of tournaments where you cash. ITM% (in-the-money percentage) is the share of tournaments a player cashes in. Most tournaments pay the top 10–15% of finishers, so the natural baseline is roughly 12–15%. Winning tournament players typically run a slightly higher ITM% (15–22%), but the most profitable players push deeper when they do cash — meaning ITM% alone is not a complete metric. Track ITM% alongside ROI for a full picture.

Formula

ITM% = (tournaments cashed / tournaments played) × 100

Example

A player who cashes in 12 of 80 tournaments has a 15% ITM. If those cashes average a 4× buy-in return, ROI is roughly (0.15 × 4 − 1) × 100 = −40%. ITM by itself does not tell you if you are winning.
