Hourly Rate

Total profit divided by total hours played.

What is Hourly Rate in poker?

Hourly RateTotal profit divided by total hours played. Hourly rate is total net profit divided by total hours played, expressed in dollars per hour. It is the single most intuitive metric of poker profitability — what you earn per hour at the table. Hourly rate combines win rate, hands-per-hour, and stake into one number. Pause-adjusted hours (excluding break time) are the most accurate input.

Formula

Hourly rate = total net profit / total hours played

Example

A live $1/$3 player who runs $1,800 net over 90 hours has a realized hourly rate of $20/hr. Annual estimate for full-time play (~1,500 hrs/yr) is $30,000.
